Report: Airbnb community brought in $185M to New Orleans economy

In a new report, Loyola University professors John D. Levenis, Ph.D., and Mehmet F. Dicle, Ph.D. calculated the total economic impact of Airbnb hosts and guests on the New Orleans economy in 2015.

Airbnb hosts bring additional visitors to cities all over the globe. These visitors typically spend money in the neighborhoods where they stay. In 2015, Airbnb hosts in New Orleans welcomed over 286,000 guests. The authors found that the Airbnb community brought in $185 million to the local economy, supported over 4,400 jobs, and contributed to $134 million in labor income.
